Mining slurry pipeline in Western Australia
Slurry, Tailings & Process

Clad Pipe for Mining & Slurry

Corrosion-resistant piping for Australia's longest slurry pipelines. Duplex stainless liners that survive pH < 2 mine waters and abrasive slurries.

The Challenge

Mining slurries and tailings contain chlorides, sulfates, and acids at pH below 2 — destroying carbon steel pipes within months. Western Australia operates slurry pipelines up to 300 km long; corrosion failure is not an option. Unplanned shutdowns from pipe failure cost millions per day in lost production.

The ZONX Solution

DURACORE clad pipes with duplex stainless (2205) or super-duplex (2507) liners withstand the most aggressive mine waters and slurries. RSP™ bonding strength ≥ 0.8 MPa ensures the liner stays bonded under abrasion, pressure, and thermal cycling — even at field weld joints.

Temperature 10 ~ 80°C
Pressure 1 – 10 MPa
Media Slurry, pH < 2, tailings, chlorides
CRA Grades 2205 / 2507

Typical Applications

  • Long-distance concentrate slurry, Western Australia
  • Tailings and dewatering systems
  • HVAC chilled water and process piping at mine sites
  • Acid mine drainage conveyance
